By Jasmine Demers Special to the Arizona Daily Star | February 5, 2019

“Dance to the beat of your heart.

This is the message the University of Arizona School of Dance wants to showcase with their upcoming performance of “Dances from the Heart.” The show will combine seven pieces designed to illustrate a sense of passion, love and humanity.

Along with the work of faculty choreographers, the performance will also showcase the work of notable choreographers Nacho Duato and Jessica Lang.”

UA Dance Alumni always stand out in a crowd! Check out what the “New York Post” had to say about freshman Rockette and 2019 BFA graduate Megan Garcia:

“Megan Garcia, a 22-year-old Latina from Naperville, Ill., received a huge surprise at the finale of the Rockettes’ “summer intensive” training program. A manager announced to the 60 women on stage, along with friends and families, that Garcia was hired on the spot. The other women crowded around to give her a group hug.
‘I’ve wanted to become a professional dancer nearly all my life,” she said. “It was a dream come true.’”

Congrats and we love you!! 🐻⬇️

Congratulations How wonderful!!!

How fabulous, congratulations 🎉 Bear Down Arizona ❤🐾💙

Congratulations 🎊

Go NAPERVILLE!

I love everything about this story except listing her ethnic background. I doubt the author would have said, “a 22-year-old Caucasian”. Anyway, don’t want to focus on the negative, Congrats!

I love this so much!!! Wish I could see it!

Autumn you have so much passion for what you do and it always shines through your choreography. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to work with you in college. Thank you and the professors at UofA for boosting male dancers up to be all they can be. And thank you for all you do for the dance community in general, as well.

Awesome
